Top Five Family-Friendly Restaurants in Myrtle Beach
Not all Myrtle Beach restaurants are made alike. Some are far better than others when it comes to food, service and value. And when you’re looking for a great place to take kids, it’s extra-important to find the right spot!
Of course we recommend our own Patio Cafe and Bar, but if you're looking to branch out, we've got some ideas. We surveyed Myrtle Beach residents and did some research to come up with this list of some of the best family-friendly restaurants in Myrtle Beach:
1. Captain George’s
1401 29th Ave. North, Myrtle Beach – about 10 minute drive from Atlantica Resort
Voted the number two all-you-can-eat restaurant in the area by the readers of the Sun News in 2012, Captain George’s is a beach institution! The sea-faring décor is fun and there’s a wide variety of choices. Even the pickiest of eaters will find something they love at Captain George’s, including crab legs, scallops, oysters, mussels and shrimp galore!
2. Fiesta del Burro Loco
960 Jason Boulevard, Myrtle Beach – near Broadway at the Beach, about 10 minute drive from Atlantica Resort
Kids love Mexican food, and for those who don’t, there are a few American standard items on the kids’ menu. You can save by sharing, as they serve up great big portions at this fun restaurant. You can probably even save enough so to buy mom and dad can a delicious margarita!
3. River City Cafe
Multiple locations on the Grand Strand, including a location at 1700 N. Ocean Boulevard a half mile from Atlantica Resort
At River City Café, you can dump peanut shells on the floor, you get to keep your cup and there’s graffiti and license plates all over the walls. Kids would love it even if the food wasn’t great—which, fortunately, it is. We recommend the nacho crunch burger with Doritos on top, for obvious reasons.
4. Sam’s Corner II
7718 N. King’s Highway, Myrtle Beach – about a 10-minute drive from Atlantica Resort
Burgers, hot dogs and nachos! It’s like a kid-pleasing trifecta. This is a no-frills, old fashioned kind of place, so don’t expect fancy service, free refills on your drinks or even a credit card machine. It’s cash only. But not only is it open 24 hours a day, kids just love it.
5. Sticky Fingers Smokehouse
2461 Coastal Grand Circle, Myrtle Beach – about 10 minutes from Atlantica Resort
Mac and cheese, barbecue sandwiches, ribs, brisket, pulled pork … this place will satisfy your appetite for barbecue. Yeah, you’ll have to deal with, well, with sticky little fingers, but it’s worth it.
Those are just a few favorites; Myrtle Beach has literally thousands of restaurants, many of which are perfect places for kids of all ages to chow down.
