Ripley’s Aquarium: An Oceanic Adventure Awaiting Atlantica Resort’s Visitors
There is no better time to explore the hidden world that inhabits the ocean waters then during your family vacation to Myrtle Beach. If you’re looking for a day away from the sun, or just to keep everyone entertained on a rare rainy day, Ripley’s Aquarium at Broadway at the Beach is the perfect place to learn about and interact with the underwater world. With live mermaids, hands-on exhibits, and an underwater tunnel, Ripley’s has something to thrill every member of your group.
Wonder at the colorful rainbow of aquatic life that fills the Indo-Pacific coral reef as you walk through Ripley’s Rainbow Rock. Catch a glimpse of these amazing water dwellers feast when aquarium divers take to the tanks during feeding time. Go beneath the surface of the water and come face to face with some of the ocean’s most intimidating creatures as you travel through Ripley’s 340-foot long acrylic tunnel. Sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, sawfish, eels and more await you at every twist and turn as the glidepath moves you through the tunnel.
The Penguin playhouse is a great place to load up on laughs while you watch these cute and curious birds tumble, dive and play around in their own habitat. Stroll through the Tropical Rainforest exhibit and take a look at some of the more than 2,000 fish species that live there including, frogs, piranhas and four-eyed fish.
If you’re looking for some hands-on fun, visit the aquarium’s Friendship Flats. Here, visitors get a chance to touch and interact with resident sting rays that come to the surface to explore the water’s edge. Or check out the Discovery Center to pick up some horseshoe crabs, meet puffer fish, and learn about marine life. Want to get an even closer look? Ripley’s Aquarium also offers packages that allow you to suit up and dive in for a swim with the sting rays!
After a fun-filled day of adventuring through the deep abyss, take a break to recharge at the Feeding Frenzy Eatery overlooking Stingray Bay. Choose from a variety of delicious food like pizza, burgers, pretzels and more. When you’ve had your fill, head back out to explore more exhibits, or shop the Ripley’s Cargo Hold gift shop for a souvenir.

Located at nearby Broadway at the Beach, Ripley’s Aquarium is open daily from 9am-10pm Monday-Thursday and until 11pm Friday-Sunday.
