Explore The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
One thing we hear from our guests over and over again is that they love Palmetto Shores’ fantastic location right in the heart of Myrtle Beach. One of the big attractions, of course, is the Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk & Promenade. Year-round, it’s the heart of town. In the summer, the boardwalk is always hopping thanks to the “Hot Summer Nights” series, but it’s also a great place to hang out in the fall and winter months! Check out what our famous Boardwalk has to offer:
Grab a bite
If you’re going to hit the boardwalk, you might as well go hungry. Not only is it a great place to stroll and enjoy ocean views, people watch, and shop, but also to dine at great restaurants and enjoy an oceanfront drink and a meal.
We love Landshark Bar and Grill—especially the patio. Some recommended menu items: Grilled oysters, tater tots and the Philly cheese steak. And – of course - don’t forget the margaritas and Landshark beers.
There’s also the classic Peaches Corner, which was singled out by USA Today when it rated Myrtle Beach’s boardwalk one of the top boardwalks in the country when it comes to food. Try the bruiser—a beer-battered foot long dog warped in bacon and topped with chili, cheese and onions.
Play a game
The fun plaza arcade on the Myrtle Beach boardwalk is a great place to duck out of the sunshine and enjoy some good old-fashioned fun times. Pinball, skee ball, fun jackpot games, and even some cool vintage games, because Donkey Kong is still fun. It’s fun for kids and for grown-up kids alike!
Take a flight
Sure, you can catch some great views from an oceanfront room at Palmetto Shores, but to get the best view at the beach, you’ve got to take a flight on the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel. A flight on this nearly 200-foot tall gondola ride takes about 15 minutes and you’ll enjoy breathtaking ocean views as well as views of Myrtle Beach itself. A flight is $13 for those 12 and older, $9 for kids aged 3-11 and kids 2 and younger are free.
These are just a few ideas—the boardwalk offers almost a mile of fun for strolling and enjoying Myrtle Beach’s great weather. What is your favorite Boardwalk attraction? Let us know!
