Atlantica Restaurant and the best places to eat within walking distance.
My family and I just got back from Myrtle Beach. We stayed at the beautiful Atlantica Resort, right on the Atlantic Ocean. We chose to stay at the Atlantica Resort because it’s right in the middle of all the action! Only a couple of blocks from the Myrtle Beach Boulevard, our hotel was close to just about everything. We were surprised to get such an affordable rate. They have so many pools and water attractions that I don’t even think we had a chance to visit them all.
Before the trip, we tried to pick out restaurants that we wanted to try out, but there was so much to do only a block from the hotel, that we actually didn’t travel very far. The first day we took the kids on the amazing SkyWheel. We walked around to look in the shops until they got hungry and we stumbled upon this neat Mexican restaurant, Banditos.
My kids loved it! A bunch of barrel-looking objects were placed throughout the restaurant that we learned were actually the tables. The tables look like they are connected to the chairs until you pull them out to sit down. We didn’t sit at those tables because they were inside, and we asked for a seat outside on the patio. Banditos has a huge patio with a view of the ocean. We enjoyed the live Mexican band they had playing outside throughout the dinner. After dinner, we traveled back to the hotel to hop in the pool with the kids. I think their favorite part of the whole trip was swimming at the resort because there was a lazy river and a waterfall.
We didn’t make it far from the hotel for breakfast the next day either. The only breakfast place that seemed close to the hotel was the Olympic Flame Pancake House. Well, it was actually right across the street so we didn’t search for very long. We drove there because the walk home from Banditos last night still had the kids pretty exhausted. We got lucky because the pancake house was about the same distance from the hotel. The restaurant had awesome pancakes and French toast! My kids ordered the chocolate chip pancakes, my husband ordered an omelette and French toast, and I ordered the pancake breakfast with eggs, sausage, and grits. The food did a good job preparing us for the adventurous day ahead.
Later in the day, we stopped for lunch at Pier 14. My husband and I had one of their “pier pressure” cocktails (we didn’t feel there was another choice). They have a great lunch menu with just about any sandwich you can think of. My kids ordered from the “little mates” menu, and my hubby and I both got the Pier 14 Famous Po Boy. After lunch, we toured the gift shop and we walked down the pier. We saw lots of seagulls and even a dolphin!
