Top Four Family Friendly Attractions in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is a favorite family destination for a reason. This area is home to miles of gorgeous beaches, a plethora of family friendly attractions and entertainment, and a wide variety of family friendly hotels.

Wondering what to do once you get everyone to the beach? Well, first, hit the beach! But, after you have had your fill of the sun and sea, there’s still plenty to do. Here are four favorite family friendly attractions in Myrtle Beach:

1. Visit Family Kingdom Amusement Park and Splashes

Kids love both amusement parks and water parks and with Family Kingdom you’ve got both—right on the gorgeous Myrtle Beach oceanfront. What we love about Family Kingdom is that there’s no charge to enter, only to ride—it can make for a more economical trip in families where not every member wants to ride, but everyone wants to be together.

Both Family Kingdom parks have a variety of rides for everyone from the thrill seeking adventurer in your clan to the little splashers and kiddie ride enthusiasts. Unlimited ride bracelets for both parks can be used together on the same day or separately.

2. Put the pedal to the metal at NASCAR SpeedPark

Go karts are one of those things you never really grow out of. They are always exciting and it adds an extra element of fun to give the experience a NASCAR twist. Use your imagination—think of yourself as your favorite NASCAR driver and see that checkered flag wave!

NASCAR SpeedPark is also home to 32 holes of mini golf, which, if it isn’t the official sport of Myrtle Beach, it ought to be considered.

3. Take a flight on the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel

At nearly 200 feet tall, the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is one of our favorite ways to get a really great view of Myrtle Beach. It’s located right on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade and each gondola is temperature controlled, so don’t worry about working up a sweat.

The SkyWheel is also just cool to check out at night, when it’s lit up by millions of lights. Something about the wheel just says fun.

4. Go underwater at Ripley’s Aquarium

The Rilpey’s Aquarium is one of the most popular attractions along the Grand Strand and it’s not hard to see why. Kids love the discovery center where they can handle prehistoric-looking horseshoe crabs, learn about friendly puffer fish, and play with other museum guests. Another popular attraction is Rainbow Rock, a psychadelic-hued aquarium that houses amazing creatures of the sea, including all your favorites from Finding Nemo - like clown triggerfish, Moorish idols, clownfish, and regal blue tang. The dive shows are also a popular draw. And if all that isn’t exciting enough, check out the SHARKS.

Yes, sharks, so close you feel like you could reach out and touch them. But not so close they’ll actually take a bite. That’s what we call a win-win.
